What Makes Us Different

Founded by a collective of small and marginal farmers from the fertile Ujani Dam region in Solapur, Maharashtra, our company is a registered Farmer Producer Company (FPC) — a transformative model introduced by the Government of India to empower farmers as business owners.

This means we are owned and operated by the very people who grow the produce, ensuring that honesty, sustainability, and traceability are built into every stage of our supply chain.

Why Our Location Matters

Ujani Orchards is located in the fertile heart of Maharashtra — near the Ujani Dam in Solapur — a region naturally suited for world-class fruit cultivation.

Reliable Irrigation

Our farms are sustained by one of Maharashtra's largest irrigation projects — Ujani Dam — ensuring year-round water availability and stable crop cycles.

Fertile Black Cotton Soil

The region's black cotton soil is rich in nutrients and moisture-retaining, ideal for cultivating high-yield bananas and naturally flavorful produce.

Ideal Agro-Climatic Conditions

With plenty of sunshine and a semi-arid climate, our crops benefit from natural ripening, low pest pressure, and excellent sugar content and shelf life.

What is a Farmer Producer Company?

A Farmer Producer Company (FPC) is a special type of company registered under the Companies Act, 2013 in India, created by farmers, for farmers.

Why FPCs Were Introduced

For decades, small and marginal farmers in India faced barriers like unfair pricing by middlemen, limited market access, lack of bargaining power, and fragmented supply chains.

To solve this, the Government of India introduced the FPC model to empower farmers as shareholders, promote collective farming and marketing, and enable access to credit, technology, and fair markets.

Key Features of an FPC

Owned by Farmer Members
No external private control
Legal Entity (with CIN)
Can trade, sign contracts, export, and raise funds
Profit-Sharing Model
Profits are reinvested or shared with members
Collective Bargaining
Better prices for inputs and produce
Direct Market Linkage
Removes middlemen — ensures transparency

Why FPCs Matter to Buyers

  • Direct connection to the source — increased trust and traceability
  • Transparent operations with full data on growing practices
  • Fair trade and social impact — supporting rural livelihoods
  • Standardized quality and customized supply for B2B partnerships

Advantages for Buyers

1. Direct from Farm = Lower Cost

By eliminating middlemen and dealing directly with our producer group, buyers benefit from competitive pricing and better margins. Our cooperative model allows bulk procurement at the source, reducing logistics complexity.

2. Traceability and Trust

Every batch is backed by detailed data — from soil type and seed variety to harvesting and packaging. Clients receive full documentation and certifications, ensuring food safety, compliance, and consistency.

3. Social Impact and Sustainability

Your purchase supports 200+ small and marginal farmers, empowering rural livelihoods. We use responsible farming practices with limited chemical inputs, minimal waste, and eco-friendly packaging options.

"FPCs are the future of Indian agriculture — farmer-owned, professionally managed, and globally connected."
